Mandarin, Jasmine, Clove Tucked high in the northern hills of Kayanza, Burundi, Nemba washing station brings together over 1,000 smallholder farmers, each tending a few hundred Red Bourbon trees at 1,700 metres above sea level. The cool, crisp mountain air helps the cherries ripen slowly, building a fragrant, floral sweetness that’s uniquely Nemba. Every cherry is hand-picked, floated to check quality, and sorted again by hand before being pulped and carefully washed; a process that brings out clarity and vibrancy in every cup. The parchment is then dry fermented, soaked, and sun-dried on raised beds, with constant attention to ensure even drying and zero defects. Expect mandarin brightness, delicate jasmine floral notes, and a whisper of clove, all coming together in a cup that’s lively, aromatic, and unapologetically delicious.
