Region: Conceição do Rio Ver d e , Minas Gerais Elevation: 1260 masl About: Founded in 1887, Fazenda Rio Ver d e began with a wedding. Antonio Fachardo Junqueira and Gabriella Augusta inherited the farm as part of their wedding gift, and their family has spent generations cultivating, innovating, and caring for the land ever since. Located in the heart of the Mantiqueira Mountains, Fazenda Rio Ver d e is now part of the Ipanema Agrícola group—a Brazilian export company that also owns three farms. Rio Ver d e is the oldest of the company’s farms as well as its flagship. Home to a state-of-the-art mill and processing centre , and surrounded by untouched forests and crystal-clear springs, the property is interconnected by ecological trails and represents a balance between production and preservation. Environmental sustainability has long been at the core of all activities at Fazenda Rio Ver d e , and that remains true under the stewardship of Ipanema Agrícola. In addition to the mill and processing centre , Rio Ver d e also boasts an environmental monitoring centre —a home base for all sustainability initiatives. These include rigorous control of water resources, cultivation of native species seedlings for reforestation, the promotion of wild bee populations, and continuous monitoring of the surrounding fauna and flora. The soil of the Mantiqueira region has unique characteristics due to its mineral richness and high clay content, making it one of the farm's greatest assets—alongside a dedicated team committed to the relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.
