Benjamin Paz - Geisha 2025

Mecca Coffee
Sold by Mecca Coffee(Sydney, NSW)
$33.32inc. GST

Rare & Exotic This special Geisha lot is best enjoyed as a filter coffee, as brewed by our head barista Kaede Watanabe on her Kalita: 15g coffee / 250ml water (100°) / 2:55 brew time / 3 pours Benjamin Paz has been instrumental in putting Santa Barbara’s coffee on the specialty coffee map. Coming from a respected lineage of Honduran coffee producers, he carries forward a legacy of quality and craftsmanship. His father founded Beneficio San Vicente, a globally renowned coffee exporter, where Benjamin now helps connect local farmers with international roasters. Through this platform, producers receive fair prices for their entire crop, allowing them to improve their farms, refine their practices, and build lasting relationships. Beyond his work at Beneficio San Vicente, Benjamin is a dedicated coffee producer. In 2013, he acquired his first farm in El Cedral, planting Pacas varietals. Five years later, he established Finca La Salsa, where he cultivates exceptional varieties like Geisha and SL28. Nestled in the misty highlands around Lake Yojoa, La Salsa benefits from a unique microclimate that slows cherry maturation—enhancing sweetness and complexity in the cup, with delicate tea-like notes and rich blackcurrant flavours. A multiple-time Cup of Excellence winner, including first-place finishes in 2022 and 2024, Benjamin is a true champion of Honduran coffee. For over a decade, he has been a key figure in our Producers Series, introducing us to extraordinary farmers like Pedro Moreno and Maria Olimpia Cruz. His dedication goes beyond his own farm—it’s about uplifting an entire coffee-growing community. Benjamin’s passion, precision, and pursuit of excellence shine through in every cup, ensuring that his coffee reflects the care and expertise that have defined his family for generations.

Origin: Honduras

Tasting Notes: Cherry, Rum, Tea
